Virtual 1-on-1 training/consultation sessions can be customized to your specific area of interest for school, private teaching, worship music or composition/arranging.

  • You will need a Mac or Windows computer with an internet connection. Finale 2014 or Finale v25 should be installed. If you do not own the software, a 30-day free trial of Finale v25 can be downloaded prior to the meeting.
  • We will use Zoom on-line web conferencing: Just click on the link in the invitation email to join the meeting. This allows us to use audio, video and to share our computer screens with each other.

Cost :

IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS:

Learn how to use Finale music notation software to create, edit, and print musical scores, arrangements and teaching materials for use in your school music program, performance groups, private teaching or worship services. Through hands-on sequential step-by-step instruction, you’ll learn how to create instrumental and choral scores, lead sheets and classroom materials, enter notes, markings, lyrics and chord symbols using time-saving shortcuts, layout your pages, print parts, transpose music, and share your Finale files with others in a variety of ways and formats. Training sessions can also be customized to specific notation needs for school, private teaching or church worship programs.

HALF DAY HANDS-ON WORKSHOP

TWO DAY HANDS-ON WORKSHOP or REGIONAL HANDS-ON WORKSHOP
(12-13 hours)

  • REQUIRED TEXT: Building Successful Finale ‘Chops’ tutorial book (for 2014/v25)
  • OPTIONAL: 1 Graduate Credit offered through Hamline University, St. Paul, MN
    (requires a minimum of 12 contact hours).
    Hamline registration and additional credit fee payment would be done on the first day of class.

Workshop Requirements:
  • COMPUTERS:
    OPTION A: A computer lab (Mac or Win) with Finale 2014 or Finale v25 installed.
    OPTION B: Each participant brings their own laptop computer (Mac or Win) with Finale 2014 or Finale v25 installed.

  • REQUIRED SOFTWARE: Finale 2014 or Finale v25. If you do not own the software, a 30-day free trial of Finale v25 can be downloaded for use at the workshop.
  • A USB PLUG-AND-PLAY MIDI CONTROLLER KEYBOARD is the quickest hassle-free way to enter notes in Finale (recommended but not required). A plug-and-play 2 or 4 octave MIDI controller keyboard (either full size keys or smaller keys) works well for note entry. Keyboard prices range from $60-$100.
